To take a practical driving test, you first must pass the theory test and the hazard perception test. All instructors from U Drive Morgan School of Motoring will help you and support you with your revision for these tests.

Be aware that some driving schools may try and delay you in taking the Theory Test to gain more profit from driving lessons over this period. U Drive professional instructors will actively get involved to help you pass the first time and if not will continue helping until you pass.

The Theory test is split into two parts:

• Theory (Questions with Multiple Choice Answers)
• Hazard Perception

Theory Test

The Theory test consists of 50 multiple choice questions; you have 57 minutes to complete the questions. You need to get 43 correct out of the 50 questions. There are 14 different areas to learn below are examples of four areas you could be quizzed on:

• Road Traffic signs
• Motorway rules
• Safety of your vehicle
• Attitude

Hazard Perception

After the Multiple Questions test there will be a few minutes break and the second part of the theory test, the Hazard Perception Test will start. There is not a time limit on the Hazard Perception Test. It consists of 14 video clips of a vehicles driving down various roads in different traffic and weather conditions. You have to spot the developing hazards by clicking the mouse button, if you are correct you score points. The more accurate you are the more points you score. You need to score 44 points out of a possible 75.
