Really great and experienced instructor, he sorted out a lesson plan to fit my schedule and was able to be flexible with it as well. Couldn't really ask for better

My time with Rob Tingle had been from 12th July - 12th August, with a first time pass. I opted for the 34 hour course at his recommendation having no prior lessons or experience at all and it was certainly the correct decision. Rob is not only an experience and veteran driver with a breadth of knowledge to bring to the table for overall driving, but also an expert on education and people management, leaving every lesson an ample opportunity for progress. I couldn’t recommend Rob Tingle enough and it’s clear why his reputation precedes him. Would definitely recommend for learners of any level!

Did 8 hours of intensive with Rob. Haven't driven in a while and with my theory soon coming to an end. He helped me pass my test with 3 minors. Rob is calm, reasonable and knowledgeable, he takes you from your understanding. Also, when having tough conversations, Rob talks with you and not at you which I found helpful. The key thing I took from Rob, it wasn't just getting my driving licence but instead asking whether am I a save driver? As everything else then falls in place. Thanks Rob.

Did a semi Intensive driving course with Rob, he has an amazing quality of teaching that pinpoints everything that needs perfecting for the test and tailors his lessons around them. This allowed me to pass with 0 faults. Thank you Rob, a great instructor.

Passing my driving test the first time with only 3 minors feels even more special knowing how much support I received from Rob throughout my journey. From the very beginning, I felt completely supported, encouraged, and understood. Every lesson was personalised to my specific needs, and Rob always took the time to understand the areas I found challenging and adapt each lesson accordingly. Rob believed in me, sometimes even when I doubted myself, and gradually helped me build the confidence I needed to become a safe and independent driver. Thank you for all the patience and encouragement. I would wholeheartedly recommend Rob to anyone learning to drive. 🥳🤩

An incredible instructor. Genuinely knowledgeable, had me confident and comfortable in no time at all. I went from not having driven in over 10 years to being able to pass in only a matter of weeks. If you are unsure, nervous, or just need a top up of knowledge then Rob is your guy!

Rob is such a great instructor, really calm and helpful, easily tailored lessons to what I needed. Passed first time on semi intensive lessons over a few weeks, I felt really prepared for the test in such a short time and feel confident driving now on my own too. Thank you Rob!! I would like to thank Rob for his support enabling myself to pass my practical driving test on my first attempt. Rob was extremely knowledgeable of the local area and test routes, punctual, friendly and a true professional. We worked on daily plans which we ammended as required, focusing on areas which I thought needed attention until I was comfortable with mock tests. The mock tests were extremely helpful in easing my nerves and again focusing on areas that needed improvement. The car was very easy for me personally to drive and also use as the test vehicle. I would highly recommend Rob for any driving training and again appreciate his help.

Learning to drive with Rob was an absolute pleasure. Such a professional, kind, and knowledgeable instructor. Took me from absolute zero to a first-time pass in only 30 hours of lessons, and we had a lot of fun and good conversations throughout. Rob is an amazing instructor who gave me a lot of confidence even when I thought I wasn't ready for my driving test, I've been driving before coming to the UK, but I wasn't confident enough to pass my UK driving test on my own, and on meeting Rob, I passed my test within one week of meeting him! He was that good, patient enough to break my old driving habits, taught me to be confident qualified driver in the UK. He gave me his vote of confidence just before the test. Reassured me I was going to pass if I just remembered everything I was told and taught. Gave me loads of confidence going into the test. And I passed with just 2 minor faults. I 100% recommend Rob for new drivers and qualified drivers from other countries that just moved to the UK.

I contacted Udrive after starting driving lessons in London with another instructor. I decided to do an intensive driving course so that I could advance quicker beyond 3rd gear and focus on driving full time to get me pass ready. I couldn’t recommend Rob enough, he set up the perfect intensive course which was tailored to my needs and helped me pass first time! Rob is patient, knowledgeable and great at giving direction. I found the course was a good pace for me and passing my test first time is a sign of Robs great teaching. I felt confident on the day of my test having covered a lot of the test routes and specifics of Lincoln roads. The car was great to drive and really user friendly. I would recommend Rob to anyone looking to start or continue lessons. I completed the intensive 26 hour package having done approximately 17 hours tuition ahead of the course.

I had the pleasure of learning to drive with Rob, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very first lesson, he made me feel at ease and confident in my ability to learn from him. I’ve been learning from Rob for a while due to my busy university schedule and my hospital placements as a medical student, but he was very flexible in lesson times and very understanding which really suited my needs. Amazing instructor. I was very stressed around driving and at 38, never thought I would own a driving license. Robert helped me throughout the way by explaining things very clearly and kept me focused on the right things. He helped me calm my nerves and tweak a few things to ensure I fully understood. So I'm American. Driving in the UK had always terrified me. And I wondered if I could learn to successfully pass the UK driving test at the age of 45. Rob was incredibly patient and professional and I don't know if I could have passed without his help. He explains things very clearly and is supportive as you are learning. I took an intensive course in the Summer of 2023, and could not be more happy that Rob was my instructor. His approach was tailored to suit my learning style, he understood every problem I had and was able to guide me to fix the issues at their route. A very knowledgeable tutor on all things driving, giving me key information, reasonings behind procedures and answering all queries however unnecessary they may have seemed. Rob guided me to my test in less than 2 months, and could not have been more supportive in and out of our lessons. The whole U-Drive experience was excellent and I would recommend Rob to anyone thinking of taking driving lessons.

Rob is an excellent driving instructor; kind, calm and knowledgeable. He not only helped my daughter but helped me to support her with her driving. Learning to drive can be a stressful time but Rob made it all seem ‘do able’ and achievable. I believe that Rob taught my daughter to drive not just to pass her test as so many instructors do. Passing 1st time was a bonus but certainly down to Rob’s expert tuition.

Rob has been an incredible driving instructor through a process that began with no driving experience at all and a lot of anxiety when behind the wheel to passing my test first time around. Each lesson would feel like another step forward to an end goal, I would always feel safe in the car and when I did make mistakes Rob would react in an understanding and forward thinking manner. Through Rob's guidance my driving greatly improved in the run up to the test and Rob's knowledge of the test routes and test expectations were extremely useful and allowed me to feel completely prepared going into the day of my test. I am oversees driver, rob kindly got me a slot when I am approached 3 weeks before the exam. I got 2 lesson 2 hours each. Rob covered most of exam routes as well as common mistakes. Rob was calm to deal with my mistakes and giving feedback. He is an experienced instructor and answered all my questions. He is aware of what the exam will be like and would get you to pass it.

I found Rob to be a great driving instructor. Every lesson was catered to my skill level and any mistakes that came up, we would always look more into them and would change the lesson to focus on that weakness. Started learning with Rob early December, after having a few lessons in the past but still felt like a beginner. Rob quickly made me feel comfortable and confident enough to be driving independently again by the end of the first lesson, explaining everything in detail but simple enough to quickly and easily pick up as we drove. Rob’s knowledge of test routes and potential problem areas in and around Lincoln was second to none, and the whole learning process was made easy due to Rob’s attention to detail and genuine investment in me passing my test. Each lesson had a clear goal on what we wanted to work on, and each week I could see myself progressing and building on each lesson. Rob handled the run in to my test day perfectly, to the point where the lesson before the test was my best drive to date. Regardless of my test result I’d have no hesitation in recommending Rob (and UDrive as a whole) to any learner driver.

About Me 

I still remember how I felt the day I passed my driving test, it was a very special and significant day to me. It was one of the main reasons I chose to embark on the challenging and rewarding journey to qualifying as a Driving Instructor. My professional background is centred around people; coaching, managing and training. I had plenty of cross-over skills and experience to make the career change!  I also love driving, I literally covered thousands of  practice miles in Lincoln before the notorious (ADI part 2) Instructor driving test, I passed with zero faults.

I appreciate how important the learning to drive process is to pupils and parents, But I always think of it as working together all the way up to passing the test. I believe my excellent first time pass rate is earned via extremely thorough test preparation, via every lesson being client centred (always goal and risk focussed) and most importantly, the emphasis will always be on every pupil becoming a safe driver for life.

Outside of work I love football, cooking and travelling. I also have a young son to keep me busy.
